In the wee hours of the morning when Lucas wakes up, I bring him to my room and nurse him before we actually get up. It's a way for us both to wake up a little.
Last night I was reading something on my phone before I went to sleep and just laid my phone on the bed next to my pillow. It eventually got buried under a blanket. After Lucas finished nursing this AM, he sat up and was smiley. Then my phone made a noise. It was some text message alert or something. He immediately started looking for my phone and found it buried under blankets.
My phone is like treasure because I won't let him play with it. That makes it automatically classified as "baby gold". He will seek it out. He was SO proud of himself that he'd found it that I let him hold it for a whole 5 minutes till he got distracted with something else.
I love the stages in child development. Lucas is learning that even if he can't see something, it's still there. Good ol Piaget and his object permanence.
Join me on this awesome journey as Lucas plays, learns and grows far too quickly! I might even learn a thing or two as well . . .
